hi i have a mixed flock. i have year old birds who are eating egg maker crumble but i have to bring babys up soon becouse they are getting to big. they are 1 month old and i was wondering if the exesive amount of calcium would hurt them. i know when there baby babys they are not sopoz to eat adult food so what age is ok?????
thanks

I switched mine all over to grower food 22% protein with no calcium when the babies started eating the adult feed. I was told at two grain stores that the calcium will damage or kill them if it is their only food. You can switch them onto egg maker food with calcium at 6 months or when they start laying.

Feed them all a high protein feed, like flock raiser, and put out a dish of oyster shells. The'll eat what they need to make strong shells.
