What age can I deworm my chicks?

My boss has had chickens for over 50+ years and he deworms his chicks as soon as they hatch with a all natural deformed using a gallon of water and 2 table spoons of apple cider vinegar with Mother in it.
 
BTW, diatomaceous earth *might* help deter things like mites, but I don't think it would do much for worms. Diatomaceous earth can actually irritate a chickens lungs, so I don't use it. And you shouldn't use Diatomaceous earth as a treatment. It won't help if they are already infested. ;)

I'm not big on DE. It's a respiratory irritant.
Ok thanks for letting me know do you have any recommendations on good natural deworming or any dewormer in general
