What age do turkeys gobble?

I was just curious about what age will a turkey gobble so that you can tell what they are? Also, on my 8 week old birds, their is a little bump on their legs like a wart for a spur mark. It is really small but you can feel and see it. Would that make them toms pretty much?

Hey there, I am brand new to turkeys, but I see that my turkey hens have that same spur/bump on their foreheads. So.....that dosen't seem to help us

I have 5 that I am unsure of....

I have seen a lot of things that would indicate a tom or a hen but the truth is you never know untill the tom dances and fans his tail out at least in bourbon reds that is

I've only had my turkeys for about 2weeks I don't know how old they were when I got them but how old do they need to be before I put them outside & how can you really tell them apart?:/

My Narragansett started strutting 3 days after he arrived - so maybe 5 days old. I got a mix, and none of the others have started strutting. They were three weeks old yesterday. So I MIGHT have 5 hens??? Or do other breeds mature differently? Another fun fact, all had the snood bump upon arrival, EXCEPT the Narragansett, who only just got his this past week!

All domestic turkeys are the breed Turkey. Other varieties do have different development characteristics. My Sweetgrass have late development of the full size of their snoods.

At a young age both hens and toms can strut. It is more a dominance thing than a sex thing at that age.

That's good info, thanks. He/she is also the most friendly. And is VERY jealous if another turkey tries to sit on my hand!
