I have 27 chickens in the hen house that are almost a year old, I have 24 chicks in the outside brooder that are 4 weeks, I have 11 chicks in the inside brooder that are 2 weeks. I have to combine some groups together to make room for the 46 that are in the incubator. This will be a on going process. I know you all have to do the same thing so when and who do you combine ?

Well.....If they were mine...the 4 week and 2 week olds would be put in together but not for another 2 weeks...their size is what you need to look at being closer together...Sure wouldn't put the 4 weeks olds with the older hens thats for sure....I never add chicks younger then 5 months to the older flock because of their different feeds.......thats how I do it...my henhouse is 10 by 14, has two separate areas that are enclosed and 2 runs....

Put the 2 and 4 weekers together. Keep the temps right for the youngers and make sure there are places for the olders to get away. Pop them in with the adults at 4 months or so.
