Good point. Not a bad idea to take the tarps off so that they don't collapse. They will be fien if they are in the snow. What's going to happen when the snow builds up enough to collapse the tarps?

Repeat after me. They will be ok They will be ok they will be ok.awesome!!! thank you so much for your help!
because it’s not really super secure against some of the animals that only come out at night here they are put in their house at night, which is solid, and so when i go let them out into their pen tomorrow morning i’m gonna brush any snow off first and re-secure the tarps (if the snow hasn’t melted by then) so it shouldn’t have enough of a buildup to collapse! What's going to happen when the snow builds up enough to collapse the tarps?
it’s more to keep them out of sight and protected from any hawks or eagles around here, and so local cats can’t jump in. i’m gonna keep all the snow brushed off and the tarps secured so they won’t cave !Good point. Use a net over the coop. It won't build up as much snow, and nothing can't get in. Tarps are a good idea though!it’s more to keep them out of sight and protected from any hawks or eagles around here, and so local cats can’t jump in. i’m gonna keep all the snow brushed off and the tarps secured so they won’t cave !
aww!!! and thanks so much!@saydeei This is my first winter with my ducks and I worry about them in the cold too (its between 20-30 degrees here) My babies are really content foraging through the snow during the day. Yesterday they were all laying in the snow napping half of the day. They go in a wooden house with straw on the floor for shelter and at night. Last night dropped to about 20 so I kept checking on them on our duck cam. Not only were they not phased by the cold, but they were all in their own corners (not even huddled together). Your 2 should be fine. I think this cold is actually more stressful for us as new owners than it is for the ducks
Your babies are super cute! They look perfectly content too![]()
