My supposed Sussex turned out to be a brown leghorn. Nice job feedstore. Not the bird I bought, but she's still cool and im glad she turned out the way she did.

I thought mine was going to be a welsummer, after I figured out it wasn't a sussex. Then it laid a white egg and has the white ears. It took me a while to research and figure it all out.

Did you have a child hold the chick for the photo? I'm looking at the chick's size relative to the hand holding it in the photo and it does not look like a bantam.

Not a sussex they have a characteristic Zoro mask.... looks like exactly like my std Dark Cornish in coloring and pattern, I believe they have them in bantams too! They supposedly show nicely.

I think Dark Cornish is a good guess. Bantam Cornish are the largest of the bantam breeds. BTW: Speckled Sussex are availabe in bantam form but they don't have yellow legs.
