What am I? Roo/Pullet for one, breed for the other!

I have 2 chicks here that we're questioning. They're both 3 weeks old almost. My little barred rock is larger than my other 4 chicks (I got them all at the same time as day olds), and her comb is larger. I order pullets, but I know mistakes happen! The second one Im wondering about what breed she is. She was an all yellow chick, and started getting brownish patterns on the wings.. and now.. well. I have pictures!! Any thoughts??

Well, based on the light spot on her head, I would guess pullet. Usually the males have darker heads. You will see the combs of some breeds growing faster than others. If she's your only barred rock, that may be why the comb looks so much larger.

Maybe someone else has an idea on the other chick?

Looks like girls to me. No idea on the breed of the one in question though.

Well I'm hoping

the BR stays lookin like a pullet! Thats one out of the 2 restrictions my town has on chickens. 1. Clean water, food and shelter from the elements 2. NO ROOSTERS. Boooo! I would love love love one, but not at this residence! Anyways... The 2nd chick. She's awesome, but her "what is she" factor drives me nuts. We've looked at all the websites, feathersite, googled, all the hatcheries. We got them both from MPC, as assorted brown egg layers, and could possible include some dark egg layers as well. I've looked up brown, dark brown, then went to white.

So confusing! She looks like some breeds, but doesn't have feathered feet, or pink legs, and all that.. I dunno!

The second one looks like a New Hampshire Red and I see some black in it's tail. I've heard of NHR's from hatcheries having black in the tail, wings, and hackle.
