True but he could have gotten thrown in by mistake. If it has to be a breed on the list then that's all it could be.

If you got more chicks than you ordered, it's probably a BSL cockerel. "Bonus chicks" or "just-in-case-you-lose-one" chicks can be whatever they have extra, that day.
If it IS a cockerel, then maybe there's just a bit of "free interpretation" going on. Maybe they considered an "Egg Production Package" to mean "FERTILE Egg Production!"

My guess is that is a Barred Rock pullet. But l think you should wait and see!

Does the hatchery sell Barred Rocks?

They have Barred Rock and Dominique. I was looking at the pictures of both online as 3 week chicks and think maybe it could be more of the Dominique than Barred Rock. But they both look very similar to me.

well they give the option of ordering male female or straight run and i picked female only. the only male i ordered was the JG. I understand that its 80%ish accurate when the hatchery sexes a chicken. Luckly i ordered 15 but got 16. so if there is an extra cockerel i wont be upset....unless its mean to my JG cockerel lol. Im just hoping atleast 12 of them are hens and since im thinking my all black one is probably a cockerel too then thats all the boys i need

Dominiques have a rose comb and Barred Rocks have single combs. From the pictures you posted it looks like your chick has a single comb.
