This little guy/girl came with a few BR babies I got. It was in a large lot of them from the Amish, and no one knew how/why/when/what... so it was used as a packing peanut and I would really like to know what we have. My son is very literal about their names and breeds, and doesn't appreciate me calling it the mystery chick. Can someone help?

It has 4 toes, no feathers on the toes, and is overall light. Does have some grey coming in that almost appears barred.

Overall is the least flighty and most social of all our new babies.

LoL thanks. I was thinking a cross too, but no one seemed to know how this guy showed up in a batch of RIR and BR's. I couldn't leave her/him, and being free- well, we all know how chicken math goes :)
Hopefully someone will come along and say "I have those, they're ____!"

i might be wrong but it looks exactly like 2 chicks. i raised last spring. they were columbian rock cross chickens. both of my end up being roosters.
hope this helps

Hey Mel!

That looks a lot like one of my chicks I'm trying to figure breed on:

Your description is spot on for us as well "Overall is the least flighty and most social
of all our new babies.

Hopefully one of our compatriots can identify breed.

Mine had a little more gray/black and yours looms like yours has more brown. Guess we'll see :)
