What am I?

What about Brahmas? Do you think your chick standard or bantam? Belgian D'Uccles also have feathered feet. Both breeds have four toes and some in light colors (Light Brahma or porcelain D'Uccles)
Where the egg came from, the lady has so many different breeds, Brahmas and Belgian's might've been there. Its farther is a cuckoo marans. That's the only thing I know, and that's 'cause he's the only rooster. It came from a little cream-colored egg, definitely bantam.

Update: What am I's over a month old now

What gender is What am I?

"What am I" is still too young to tell gender accurately. However, I'm thinking pullet for now.

I would say chances are good that the mother was a Silkie because of the dark skin, feathered feet and head crest feathers and the small light egg she hatched from. First generation Silkie mixes do not have the fluffy Silkie textured feathers and they don't necessarily have 5 toes. She ( or perhaps he) is a really pretty chicken. I love silkie mixes who have that little bouffant crest on the head. The chicken's blue or grey color is really nice, too.

Is that what that is, a crest? I think it's a gray chicken, because when compared to my blue Ameraucanas, its color is different.

I don't think the father was a cuckoo Marans, or not a pure bred anyway. A pure cuckoo Marans would have all cuckoo offspring. I have blue barred cockerels, the barring is easy to spot on this color. So papa had to be someone else, maybe a young cockerel? I agree there seems to be some silkie influence, and it looks like a pullet so far, but silkies and their crosses can be hard to say for a few months.

The only adult rooster I saw was the cuckoo marans, but there could've been some random mixed-breed cockerels in there. The only bantams the lady had was silkies, and it came from a little creamy egg, definitely not a standard chicken's egg. Half of it has to be silkie.

Update: I don't have a current photo yet because What-am-I won't stand still long, but it's definitely a cockerel.

He's so beautiful!
