What an internal pip looks like

We have a duckling!
how precious!!!
4 others have pipped and are moving in response so who knows by morning! I had been checking tonight as despite the humidity being very stable-tonight it has been playing up and came in just in time to see him/her pop out!
I remember when my girls were hatching, I was so anxious/excited that I woke up every couple hours in the night to check on them! Thankfully both hatched in the daytime while I was present, which is a very special feeling!
Good luck with the rest of your hatchers!!!

Thank you! Just had another hatch! So we are at 2. Nearly all of the eggs had some form of crack by this morning so will see what happens. Will try and get some pictures but is sleeping in the back at present

Just wondering how long people leave them in the incubator before moving to the brooder. The first one is moving around trying to eat everything I know they can stay in the bator for a couple of days, but just wondered what makes people move them out. Advice?

You are most welcome and that is great that your little one now has a friend. I hope that the rest of the eggs are successful for you!!

I try to wait to move mine until:
1. they are fully dry and moving around a lot
2. I have a break in between remaining eggs that have externally pipped or not. Ideally I prefer to move mine when no other eggs currently have external pips. Sometimes the timing doesn't work though if there's early hatchers, late hatchers or a few days in between hatchings.
Sometimes if they've been in there long enough or they are crazy rambuctious I just try to open the incubator super quick, take them out and close it again before any other eggs get too dried out.

So this egg has cracked all the way aroma but nothing further. I can’t see a break in the membrane but bits of it have been exposed for a while. Maybe saws slight wiggle but not really moving. Should I do something???

Here it is

So I helped it but it had died in the shell. Was very big, sad but I think it had likely died in the night tbh. Don’t think we could have done anything. On a good note another is about to hatch
