Hi! I live in sw ga and would like to know the best chicks to order for my area (HOT AND HUMID SUMMERS...MILD WINTERS). We plan to use them as egg layers. When should I order and will they lay in the colder months? Thanks!

sexlinks are tolerant to cold and hot weather and they lay all year round. I order 25 black and red sexlinks for eggs earlier this year from welp hatchery (they have free shipping) and they all arrived healthy. They are pretty also. Mine should start laying here in a month or so

the conditions that you describe are average conditions for most breeds that are created for egg production, as long as they get enough daylight hours, yes they will lay thru the winter.....I happen to like buff orpingtons, pretty and very well dispositioned ....good luck
