What animals have you ate, what kind would you like to try?

Gosh I didn't realize how many meats I haven't tried yet! This is very interesting to me. I wish I could have been at that Pow Wow with Kelly G that's something I would have loved to experienced.

Aside from the usual..
I've had
bear stew( fatty and gamey)

Turtle soup (chewy-rubbery)

venison -

yum! if cooked right
and ostrich (steak) Yum!

Ok now I'm hungry

Ostrich is GOOD!!!! Hearty flavor, good texture. I am not a fan of snake, and I actually enjoyed escargo - snails in garlic butter. Venison lacks too much fat for my taste. Frogs are REALLY greasy, which means I love it. But heck, there is not enough meat in a danged frog leg to really enjoy it.

On the more unusual side I've had snake, frog, turtle (soft shell and snapper) coon, beaver, muskrat and bobcat. I will pretty much eat anything.

cow tongue (not so good... texture hard to deal with)

Duck... love duck... slurp (crispy duck with plum sauce).... Oh I am dreaming of it.

chicken..yep not safe either.

crappy small but good
and standard fishes
crawfish don't like them boiled with pickling spices.. would like to try another way.
Tripe (not good)
sweetbreads....... those of you who know what that is.
but the scariest meat... Grocery store hamburger!!!

I woud love to eat snake and also grasshopper (prepared of course) and also frog legs... almost got some the other day.. Daughter beat on me.. DANG... I don't know when I will get a chance at that again

I could try squirrel.. the fat little bugger are sooo grain fed from my coop... They really aren't safe around me as you can see...I will eat most anything with meat on it.

Curious, what does dog taste like?

And has anyone tried horse?

(not trying to start anything, just really picks my interest as it isn't a commonly heard of thing to try)

No I haven't tried horse but when mine misbehaves.. I am sorely tempted. (seriously i could eat horse)... dog well it was in soup... It was kinda brownish and stringy... Soup was salty... kinda stringy and like rabbit sort of.. Not that great but not that bad either.. i didn't know it was dog at the time.. It was a Vietnamese meal I had when I was in College. They didn't speak a lot of english and so I didn't get to ask alot of questions... I was there for dinner and celebrating Chinese new year.. I know.. they are veitnamese so why Chinese new year... I never found out... But the soup was good... It isn't like i had a dog steak or anything.. Turtle same deal... kinda sweet... also in soup.. served at a little resteraunt in Seattle called Skipper's Galley. just a hole in the wall ... I had the swordfish there also... They had unusual fare... I have also eaten snail... escargot... I do like them.... in butter sauce... yum... just forgot about them.

aside from the usual dairy meats and common fishes and shell fish, I have also eaten,
venison, one of my all time favorites
duck, oh, another one of my favorites
goat, not a big fan of it
cow intestines, very declicious
lamb, another favorite
horse, had it once at a party, didnt know I ate it til after I finished eating, wouldnt do it again
dog, that too at a party, I threw it up after they told me what I was eating. I am a dog lover to my core!
alligator, only reason why I travel to Florida, breakfast, lunch and dinner for me all the way! I dream of FLORIDA!!!
raccoon, take it or leave it, another taste of Florida
wild pig, delicious with the right cure
Shark, very tastey, not to mention the skin makes beautiful covers for the Hawaiian drums and beautiful necklaces out of the teeth
white eel, very delicious

just got geese for the first time, so wont know how good it is until Christmas

Raccoon... hmmmm Doesn't even sound good... I bet they even taste mean.

I would eat gator and lizard...no problem... sounds tastey.
Does gator taste like mud??? Catfish does.
