originally it referred to a blue sheen on the wingbar, opposed to the green sheened crow wing (think oegb).
Now it refers to the groundcolor (silver/gold/red) wing triangle, while crowwing has a black wing triangle (all black wing).
Duckwing is now used genetically for the wildtype e-locus = e+ allthough brown (e^b) or wheaten (e^Wh) roosters also share this wing triangle.
Because of the blue sheen the term duckwing was only used for silver and golden duckwing not the gold and red versions, that are called black breasted reds.

feathersite (www.feathersite.com under chickens) has a lot of them (colors) by breed - (altho some colors are more common in certain breeds than others) but if you can't find them there I would dogpile (www.dogpile.com)or google them.... This book : Storey's Illustrated Guide to Poultry Breeds is great too!! (maybe at your local library - they have it at mine (then I bought my own!)?)
