They average well over 300 eggs/year and are mmmmmmmmmm scrumptious!!!!!! My runners put my hens to shame---they have regularly gone over a month before taking a day off!!!

My opinion on the hybred laying hens, like the sex link varieties don't have the longevity for laying or good health like the heritage breeds do. If you love a backyard flock with a longer life, and still plenty of eggs. Heritage breeds are the way to go.
My BO hens outlay my australorps, ameracauna, NH Reds AND my Red Stars (Sex link)...And, of course, GOTTA love the BIG brown eggs! My australorps are a close second, though.
