What are blood rings (death rings) caused from?

Are they caused from bacteria? or can they be caused by temps. being crazy? thanks!

Blood rings have nothing to do with the cause of death. They are caused because the chick died an the hart stopped.

A blood ring is caused when an embryo dies and the blood leaves the veins and pools in one area that looks like a ring or circle drawn around or on the inside of the egg. Anything can cause it, certainly temperature swings, etc.
