what are feathered foot needs

I am up in Colorado. We get heavy spring snow and rains.
I put grass hay in the runs and have pallets I can lay in there if the ground is soggy.
My feather footers are able to keep dry clean feathers that way.

I have bantam and large Cochin's as well as Brahma. No foot issues here.

Straw can harbor pests like mites so hay is my preferred material.

For some reason I read your discussion title as fermented feet.

:p

I just saw on Craigslist a portable pathway made from recycled wood. It's basically a frame the width of a nice path with slats that run across the top. For muddy chicken runs you could build some of these to put up against the chicken coop and wherever it gets to be a problem.

Ok. Thanks guys & no, I am not in that wet of a climate. Oklahoma, so i doubt it will be a big issue. This lady had a thick tarp down for her pekins/cochin bantams to roam outside on youtube so i was just curious but looks like feathered legged wont be as much upkeep as i thought :)

Thank you for all the replies and ideas.. it will really help for when its that time to release my feathered feet babies come spring :)

I was worried because when i run my AC theres a huge puddle of water around it of course i dont run it full course until July approximately (beyond condensation) i covered area with stepping stones cuz my chickens without feathers on feet always had muddy feet and i read on a site thats not good for their feet or i guess i can put pine shavings this upcoming summer but as of now its stil covered with bunch of stepping stones lol and that did the job doesnt really look pretty a cluster of stepping stones by my air unit but oh well. So theres no need to groom or cut feathers on feet etc? As clueless as i may sound i thought it'd be alot more upkeep with my new feathered legged little new additions.
