What are my Bantam's

Okay, I found some baby pictures of Vixen so you can compare wing feathers and coloring.

And another full shot of the hen (Dot)...

Hope this helps. Wish I had pictures of the others. Mine are about the same age as yours though. I'm still waiting to see what they turn into.

City girl I REALLY don't think it is nice to torture me like this!! (wiff yer foto's) I am soo eggcited about (possibly) getting one of those beautiful birds. I just can't wait. And to think they are only 9 days. The wait is gonna kill me. I am sooo excited now, peepers the #1 was my fav due to it's size but now I am just excited about all of em. These little buggers are more exciting than when we would have new goat kids every spring, like up to 16 some times. And the chickens take less space and can feed my puddgy little body too. And the chickens won't cause me lots of late night trips to the barn. Heck I may put the barn cameras on them any way just for fun. Yes we have camera's in the barn and monitor next to the bed.

HeHe!

Just keep in mind that it takes a while for the spots to appear. All of her feathers will come in and THEN you get spots. And then it seems that Dot got more after that final juvenile molt happened.

I totally agree about the excitement. I don't have goats (yet!), but the chicks are like Christmas. Just wait until you have some hatching. It's almost unbearable.

Well as much fun as I think it would be. I don't think we will be hatching. We have no bator and won't need anymore until time to prep replacements for our current birds. We basically got them for eggs and I don't want to have to build a bunch more coop / run.

You just be glad ya live so far away cause I am a pretty good chicken rustler

and I would definately be tempted by yer birds. Heck I took 3 from the neighbor just fer eggs and they were just 2BR and 1GSL ( she's an awesome layer).

BTW I am on good terms with the neighbor and she told me I could have 3 to give the wife. But the whole stealing chickens story is more fun.

Well, you would have to fight your way past a couple of roosters. They're pretty intimidating.

I had no intention of hatching either. It's an addiction, I tell you! I had a silkie go broody in December and another go broody in January. Babies everywhere. Thankfully I have room left in the coops and can absorb them into the mix. I do plan on building an addition, but only so I can add another roo for some purebred chicks.

It's out of control!

just a guess~
#2 looks dark in back and wings like our bantam buff Brahmas did~ they were darker than our d'Uccle chicks.
not sure though w/o face photo
easy way to tell is if the chick it lacks a beard and muffs than chances its not d'uccle.

Thanks, jen4! Mine original two are just hatchery chicks, so I'm sure they aren't up to standard. I think they're pretty though.

I think there are a couple of people on here that raise show mille fleur d'uccles. Very pretty!
