What are my Rocks? Boy or Girl

I'm not sure you have a BR there. Legs are supposed to be yellow on BR's. Maybe you have a Cuckoo Marans?

And that is a lot of comb for a 3-4 week old. I think it's a boy, based on comb and leg thickness. But the coloring suggest female. (if it is a BR)

Where's Speckledhen? She'll know for sure.

Aren't the females supposed to have darker legs? if they are supposed to be yellow I definitely don't have a BR either. My pullets legs are very dark. Now you have me wondering! lol

All of my BR pullets don't have combs that big, no pink combs, and they are 6 weeks old. Their coloring is similar as far as the feathers/down and they have yellow legs/feet with very light black "brushed" over the top. That is just what I have but I hope it helps.

I was wondering the same thing about the Cuckoo Maran but the legs are yellower when not in the picture (I think the pic was a little dark) and look like they have a splash down the legs. Yesterday I had them out on a towel and Sunny sure does have a big come and it is very pink and formed. What about Cher the other one? Does it look like a he or she?

I have seen Speckledhen on here and know she has tons of BR's wish she would come on here too.

Thanks for all your comments, just keep letting me know what you guys think!

I might have to wait another week or so and post some more pics. Or I can wait and see if it crows, but wanted to exchange Sunny before they get older from my breeder. I have 3 other chickens from this breeder and they have all turned out wonderful.

Thanks again.....

I have 6 BR. Doing the sexing as chicks, looked like 2 would be roosters, however, only 1 developed a red comb early. Now he is the only one with big red comb all the rest do not have any red comb in their combs, they are about 2 months old now.

The first photo looks like our rooster when he was younger, with red comb.

I am new to raising chickens, so please excuse if I don't get my terminology correct.

I say that chick #1 is a cockrel also... The comb and small wattles coming in is very large and pink for that age! Just my guess thou Im new to this also...

I am thinking so too. This little chicky chases the other around the brooder all day. He/she will get down on it's little feet and stomp them around like a cat wanting to pounce......

I can't have roosters and he/she is actually pretty mean beating up the other chicky and all. I am going to exchange it for a pullet with my breeder.

Thanks for the info....
