What are quality feeds?

If you like the Purina line of feed you could all so try Land-O-Lakes Feed.
Land-O-Lakes and Purina merged some time ago and I believe that the Land O'Lakes line of feed is there better feed that they put out..

Don't get discouraged on if the Kent isn't in stock or not. Any Kent dealer can get whatever you want on their next truckload. All I do is call my local elevator about a week in advance and they put in an order for the next truck. I love it.... I can pick it up on my way to work and the boys load it for me. I also think it is pretty reasonable on price.... it ranged anywhere from $11-13 for a 50 pound bag. Considering its all pelleted with no fines and zero waste, I can't find a better deal.

I don't feed ADM... I lost over $2500 worth of chinchillas feeding it... not to mention vet and necropsy costs... I know others that use it fine, but me personally... never again.

According to the BlueSeal site it clearly states it's a part of the Kent group, which includes Kent brand feeds. There is not a BlueSeal dealer within 100 miles, but I know there is Kent.

I use the following feed formula for Starter/Grower:

Country Acres Poultry Blend 515 lbs
Ground Corn 1445 lbs
Dicalcium Phosphate 30 lbs
Calcium Carbonate 10 lbs

Yep, Purina mills, and purina aren't the same. The feed store closest to me sells purina mills line including the dog food exclusive. It actually isn't bad dog food. They also have red flannel dog food, but it's not as good.

There is a kent dealer somewhere nearby, but it's not as close as the place I currently go. It's a little bit of a drive.

The buckeye feed someone else mentioned is supposed to be good, but the closest dealer was 30 plus miles away. That's way too far for me to drive.

So far out of all the feeds I tried the purina mills flockraiser works well, and they seem to like it best. They free range most of the day, so the combination has been working out pretty well.

If I'm ever in the area that has the kent feeds maybe I'll pick up a bag to try.

For those in the SF Bay Area, Hunt & Behrens (Santa Rosa) and Modesto Milling are good sources for organic feed.

I get the Modesto Milling feed from BioFuel Oasis in Berkeley. $35 for 50 lbs.
The starter feed from Hunt & Behrens is $20 for 50 lbs.

Concord Feed has the Purina feeds. My kids got the unmedicated starter from them, to begin with.

blueseal is the best feed in my book mash pellets corn grower all 50lb bags run around 10.50 a bag here in maine. iv tried purina layer mash before and my birds didnt like it and i didnt either at 15 bucks a bag.

What about Golden Oak Milling Co. feed? I've read the post on Dumor and thought I'd switch. Purchased some today, 20%. Do I need to gradually add it to the old feed before I totally switch?
