What are signs that a hen will start laying!

I have 13 hens, well today is their 5 month old celebration. They are getting moody and starting to fight, as in grab necks and scream bloody murder. One is just walking around making loud noises I have never heard. No one wants to share the scraps I bring out. Are they about to lay for the first time? Any suggestions on how to get them to JUST GET ALONG? LOL

Sounds like the hormones are rising. Bet they are soon to start laying, and the pecking order may change.

Time is near when they have reddened combs, wattles. Squat when you walk by or touch their backs.

Sure sign when they sing THE SONG!

Walking around making loud noises can be a sign of gonna lay, gonna sit = broody, or just I'm not happy.
