After my last post https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/1023358/help-chicken-trouble-breathing-and-blood-clot-in-mouth
I think ive decided that my best diagnosis is one suggested by a reader: Egg Yolk Peritonitis. My hen is about 4 years old and stopped laying about 7 months ago.
Her symptoms include:
slow walking
squatting
breathing heavy
swollen abdomen (i dont feel an egg)
fluffed feathers
tail is turned down
huge blot clot in mouth
just seems very "off"
she is not constipated
Now the only thing that seems to be unexplained is the blood clot. it is pea sized. Do these symptoms sound like Egg Yolk Peritonitis? if not what is it? if so what can i do?!
Thank you ahead of time to anyway who responds
