Dog thread!🐾

I sent an email off to my vet clinic describing it and asking if it sounds like something that should be looked at, so hopefully we hear back from them tomorrow. What gets me wondering is that he is 100% unbothered by it, and it's not red or anything. No wounds or discharge, just black flakes/crust and I've seen flies there. I read that fly strike happens pretty quick (like a few hours), and I feel like I've seen these spots from a distance at least since a couple of weeks ago, and I've definitely seen flies there a month ago and more.

From my experiences as a kid the ear edges were crusty all summer and occasionally bled. It always healed up after the flies were gone. It was fairly common back in the 70's in dogs.

Looks like some old blood came off when I washed his ears this morning, so maybe there were some wounds. Haven't heard back from vet yet.

Oh yucky. Yeah he definitely needs to be checked out it. Hopefully you hear something soon!
Still nothing, and they've been open for two and a half hours! Oh well, maybe they're really busy. I guess I'll give them a call Monday or Tuesday if they don't respond at all today.
I got him some natural fly spray, so I suppose I will keep washing every couple of days and just get the spray on him. Fortunately, it's not a hot, buzzy day.
