What are the safest masks to use when cleaning my dusty coop?

It may be a little extreme, but my family uses this for working with fiberglass and I borrow it for cleaning the coop, and it is rather comfortable and very effective.

There are other options that are cheaper and less bulky, such as a woodworking mask that might also work well.

At the very least wear an N95 face mask, and those respirators are better. Lungs aren't all that replacable! And histoplasmosis can damage more than 'only' your lungs.

I have been using N99 masks.

At least N95s if you can get them, plus I goggle up and don a shower cap and hubby's old clothes that I can toss out as well.

For just daily under-the-roost cleanings where I'm not stirring up a lot of dust I just dive into my supply of Covid surgical masks.

Since after I scoop out all the heavy material. I use my leaf blower to get rid of the dust and cobwebs. I use a full face respirator. It prevents bad stuff from getting in my eyes and lungs.
