What are the Best Brown Egg Layers?

Any barred chicken would make a sex link. Most people love their rocks and orps as far as eggs and personality are concerned. Also you can quote many statements that talk about what wonderful mothers they make.

And ISAs are prolific wonderful large brown eggs

Now that is funny my son-in-law has some and my dad has some, they want to continuously set in the spring time, it is hard to keep them knocked off the nest and get them back to laying.

I purchased the brown egg assortment from MMH and have been surprised at how well the turkens are laying. The cochins I have are pretty to look at but aren't very prolific at laying.

I agree with "kulangi"....ISA Browns are great brown egg layers... The pullets start laying at a very early age and when in full production produce nice large eggs in mass amounts....My father kept a good size flock of these and would keep nothing else....

I absolutely love ISA-Brown chickens, they are beautiful, hardy, sometimes broody- yes it's true for a sexlink, and all-over the best bird anyone could have ever!!!!! the one's from Townline hatchery is the true line of hubbard isa-browns, a line from France. they are the only one's liscensed to sell "true" Isa-browns in the U.S.

I have a flock of 26, i ordered 25, they sent me a extra hen, and i'm averaging 25-26 every single day out of the whole year! the hcicks are hardy, haven't lost one. Townline Hatchery truly has the best birds in the U.S. Their website is www.townlinehatchery.com

Hope you order from them!!

nate,
My preferance for a black sex link would be Australorp rooster over Plymouth rock hen. 2 breeds with a reputation as good brown egg production breeds. I would give up the production for the personality of the Australorps though. Love 'em ...............stan
