When did the power outages occur?
What was your temps and humidity and how accurate is your thermometer and hygrometer?
Were these shipped or home eggs?
Maybe we can work out a solution before you try anymore eggs.
If that link doesn't turn blue just copy and paste it!

Did you calibrate your thermometer? I remember your incubator, it looked like the eggs were pretty close to the light in there, maybe a little heat shield would help.

I guess you can't get any more eggs like the ones you had, I remember you saying that a coyote got your hen. Do you have another source for hatching eggs?

What kind of thermometer do you use? Are you sure it is accurate. If it is one that comes with the incubator they are notoriously inaccurate. Causing people to cook chicks. 50% sounds a little high for humidity, but many people incubate at that percentage and have no problems. I incubate in my LG's with fans (even before they had fans on them) dry on days 1-18. No water. Humidity runs 30% in them.
Were these in an auto turner or hand turned? How many times if hand turned?
What kind of incubator?

wow you remember well i put foil around the ligh cus i did think it was too directly, yes i have my hens producing eggs like crazy well i have 3 hens that are due one on friday its the one i dunno what breed its she is here home i have one more in my brothers house she is due saturday and i have one more in the garage she is due 10 days from today

i think we could feel like parents hehehhe

i had 2 thermometors the mercury and a digital verry lil diference in eachother.

I will say my opinion is, those temp changes didn't have any negative effect on your hatch.

Maybe you could post some pics of your incubator and get some ideas of how to modify it. I do think you should look into calibrating your thermometers. I calibrated mine and found out one of them was reading 3.5 degrees low. So when I thought my temp was 100, it was really 103.5! That will definitely throw off a hatch. And, you can test out how the bator is working by incubating a water wiggler or ziplock bag with some water in it, then put the thermometers inside the wiggler or wrapped in the ziplock to see what the temps are like inside an egg.

I'm also wondering about the large hole that you had in the bottom of the bator box? Was that an exterior ventilation hole? My ventilation holes are on the side and are only about 3/4 inch in diameter. Plus you have to position the eggs large end up with artificial incubation. A lot of folks will just use and egg crate to do this, then you can simply prop one end of the egg crate up, alternating sides when you turn your eggs. Have you had some time to look at the home made incubator pages here on BYC? You can find them by going to the coop designs page, there is a link there to go to the bator pages, you'll find a lot of good info there. Sometimes you have to mess around with your system to get it to work. Good luck.
