I can’t have roosters on my property and I’m very sad to think my silver laced Wyandotte, Ivy, is indeed an Ivan! She is 8 weeks old, and I will be so heartbroken to have to give her up if she is a he... any hope??

Still too early for me to tell, but there are some here that can give you a very good guess.

Physically the bird appears to be masculine, but some Wyandotte pullets appear that way. It is too early to 100 % gender ID, but I would have a plan "B" in mind just in case. Good luck.

That's a she. Lacing on the back and no signs of solid silver in back or tail sections. Males aren't laced all over like that, only females

8 weeks is not at all too early to sex a wyandotte, I agree 100% with @Jase The Butcher though. cockerels normally don't have much lacing on their back and shoulders/wings. Especially at this age as well.

Yes. I had a friend who bred Wyandottes, and he always had them 100% accurately sexed by a little over a month

Ohhh, thank you so much everyone- now I can breathe a bit! I was so scared. The way her tail curves, the redness of her comb and waddle so early, and she is so slow growing compared to my other 3- who are so clearly females. Thank you all so so much!!
