What are the laying months for turkey hens?

Of my two young hens Lucy & Ethel, Lucy has been laying and trying to hide her eggs for about two weeks - she's up to 8 eggs. Ethel hasn't started yet but then again she was the late boomer and never got the hang of things like her sister did.

My Tom is a Bronze & I have 2 hens that were laying, 1 bronze & 1 black spanish. I had a chat with them tonight and asked for eggs!

How old are they when they start laying? Our females were hatched very early May -- I'll have to wait till next spring, right? (Zone 8, rains start in October or November, if temps/weather have anything to do with it.)

Usually spring triggers laying for mine. Most of my fall hens laid by mid spring. But my spring turkey's seldom lay by fall. I don't usually get eggs in the winter at all. It's not the weather but the hours of day light. Mine will lay in the snow and hatch poults. They don't care. Summer does seem to make them broody but if you collect eggs it helps to keep them laying. I do what I can to break the broody cycle. I don't normaly let my hens hatch any eggs. I get more eggs that way.
