My five year old does a great job at naming our flock(most of them!)...here it is:
white banty frizz roo-"Mr. Fluff) or "Fluffy"
black banty frizz girls- "Tessa" & "Tushie"-(she's actually a curley so she has never been able to fly and when she forgets this fact guess where she lands?)
Three standard cochin girls-white-"Snowy" or "Snowgirl"
blue-"Silvia" or "Silvy"
Silver Laced-"Pretty" (although I wanted to name her "Lacey" but my son changed it!LOL)
One Red Banty Frizz Roo-William Wallace(from the movie "Brave Heart")
one red smooth banty hen-"Red Girl"
and finally our Big Giant Black Cochin Roo Boy-"Barrack"(I will not comment on this name but rather leave it to your own imagination)
Now we still have four buff orps without names(mostly b/c they are hard to distinguish so they are known as "the girls" and we just added three araucana and one cuckoo maran hen to the flock as well that all are in need of names! I'm thinking of buying some colored bands on ebay so I can really tell them all apart and thus give them a name and be able to better monitor their needs.
I also have(brooding in my spare bathtub as I write this(LOL)...four silkie babies hatched out on Valentines Day!!!
2 Cuckoo Silkies- "Hugs" & "Kisses"
2 Splash Silkies- "Romeo" & "Juliet"
Also have brooding wth them four speckled sussex girl chicks and two cuckoo maran girl chicks(all without names thus far)...so umm...we have some serious naming to do real soon!(LOL)...I'm thinking of just going with themes to make it easier...like all my orp girls could have Bible names, all my speckled girls Italian names, and so on...of course this is coming from a Mama to four boys whose names are Jefferson, Benjamin, Lincoln, & Washington(who we call Ash for short)...yeah we're a tad bit patriotic around here!(LOL)
