What are the odds?

The expense is part of the reason I dont currently have one myself. Its just not in the budget. I ended up having to sell my mustang about 5 years ago and just haven't had the funds, or the heart, to get another.

Kind of happens when you have a horse for 13 years, and trained it yourself. Kills you a little bit inside to sell her, especially such a good horse. I had *insert expletive here* go passed me on the road revving engines, kicking up dirt, honking, swerving towards us, all kinds of stuff, and that horse just looked at them the same way I did. Like they were the rudest, dumbest *insert expletive here* on the face of this earth. Her name was moon, and she was a little 15h blue roan mustang, who for some reason, would turn red roan when her winter coat came in.

Ugh. Adulting, who knew? And we were all in such a hurry to grow up, weren't we.
Lol that's not joke there. Luckily my older son seems to realize being grown up sucks. Hes perfectly content with doing as little adult stuff as possible:gig

I keep telling him he should run for president. Hes great at explaining why things didnt get done in the most obscure way possible...:lau

People don't seem to understand how even well trained animals can still be unpredictable. And with horses, there's a lot that can startle them, so if you're new to riding, you have to be ready at all times.
I admire horse people. As for myself, I will stick to chickens. When I was a teen, my uncle let me ride his Appaloosa, Rusty. I thought I was cute in my Tony Lama Wing tip boots, jeans, Ruffle front western shirt and hat. I got on that horse and all went well until suppertime- he ran to the barn and managed to scrape me off on a low hanging mesquite branch. I wasn't going to let him get away with that, so in my infinite wisdom, led him to the pond - West Texas red dirt water- and as he was drinking, climbed aboard. He walked out into the pond and bucked me off in the water. Nope, horses are not my thing. Chickens now- they don't buck.
