Roomi the quail
Songster
I have kept my quail for over 2 years, and I noticed that some seemingly innocent objects put her in absolute terror. Do your quails also have those phobias? I think it's instinctual.
1. Long mop stick: when it's put upright against a wall, she doesn't notice it, but when it's on the floor she flies away and hides. -> probably because it looks like a snake?
2. Hula hoop-> it must also look like an anaconda or something toher eyes.
3. Humans dressed entirely in black: strangely she doesn't really mind when either the shirt or the pants is black. She tries to aggressively peck at me and avoids me when I am in all black attire. ->natural alarm against ravens?
4. My sweater: this one's tricky. It's bulky, wooly, and has haphazard geometrical-ish patterns ranging from beige and orange to brown shades. Maybe it reminds her instincts of some predator.
