What are the silly things that your quails are afraid of?

My quails aren't scared enough. I sometimes take care of a jack russell x mini foxie. And he's fine with chickens but he sits in front of the aviary and moans and whines at the quails. But are they scared? Of course not! They go up to him and taunt him through the aviary because they know they're safe. It's so hilarious to watch!

My quail are terrified of brooms. Vacuum cleaner - no problem, but a broom is terrifying. Pedro also freaks out if I wear any kind of hat.

Brooms and mops are widely feared objects, it seems. I don't know about hats, but my quails and guinea pigs all hate vacuum cleaner, so I used to think that it is just normal for all animal to be afraid of vacuums. Interesting!

i haven't checked if my quail are scared of brooms or mops yet they live outside in the great big bush. no. just kidding. they live in a pen.

Every time I sneeze all of my hens give me weird looks and do the cricket chirp and the rooster crows. I wonder if they think I’m crowing at them!

My quail are absolutely mortified by anything coming to the front of the hutch, if I’m not approaching from the side they will panic and bonk. They also hate the dustpan I use to scoop out waste during cleaning days. And for some reason green cabbage, but not purple, scares the crap out of them. They start bouncing around and honking.

That's probably their way of saying "Bless you!" All I get when I cough or sneeze, though, is some dirty sideway glance...

I think big bunch of cabbages looks threatening to quail, since my quail also becomes apprehensive when I approach with uncut vegetables. She doesn't get afraid when it's laid on the ground, which is a perfectly reasonable quail psychology. I have given up on trying to fathom what's going on in their tiny skull long ago.
