Pictures to come. Sorry its already dark.

I got 3 new birds today. One is an EE no question, the others I find very intriguing. Having such a small flock I like diverse birds.

Bird 1
Green laced red, yellow legs, single comb. This bird is really intriguing because it isn't even a green sheen. This is a very true green almost like you would find on a duck and the lacing flows all the way through her body. She has a nice temperament as well.

Bird 2
The best way to describe her is as a buff orpington with feathered feet. Her tail isn't rounded like a cochin's, her legs are yellow. She is definitely gorgeous though.

Give me your guesses now and I will post pictures in the morning.

THANKS!

I thought you might. I'll post pics first thing in the morning. They aren't shy which is nice. The one part I always hate about getting new birds is the period of time when everyone but the new kids get to go out and graze. Poor things they'll be in the coop for about 3 days.

#1 Sounds very interesting! #2 sounds like either a hatchery quality Cochin or a Buff Brahma - Is there any black on it?

nope, I'd recognize a brahma from 100 yards away I have a cute little one named sunny. Here's her gorgeous little self now!

My newb is pure buff. Maybe hatchery quality cochin... It is odd that there is NO rounding of the tail though. Her gait doesn't really match that of a cochin either. You know their little waddle lol, their like the penguins of the chicken world lol. She was in with a bunch of buff orpingtons when I picked her out and if you cut them all off at the knees you couldn't tell the difference between them. She is that stunningly like a buff orpington.

Does the first one look like this: (not my pic)

The second one sounds like an Orp x Cochin. I have done some Orps crosses- and their shape seems to be dominant. Never tried it with a cochin though.

The Buff basketball on the left is a hatchery Cochin and her tail isn't rounded either, other than right on her back, then she has all those straight tail feathers.

ETA: A better pic of hatchery Cochins tail

Well Chicken number 2 is solved. Chicken number one looks very similar to your picture. Her green is truer, her lacing wider and goes further up her neck and to the end of her tail. Its almost light enough to go take a picture of her! What kind of bird is that?

Hey! I got some pictures but couldn't find the cord for my camera so these are phone quality sorry. Its still a little dark here. I just got a chance to really inspect the birds and it looks like one has bumble foot and two have spurs. Can you see the first pick and tell me definitively if that is a spur?
