Egg was intact when collected but cracked without leaking contents when I placed it in basket. I washed and refrigerated it. Today is day 2 and there are now blue vein-like lines radiating away from crack in outer and inner shell. No odor to contents. I’m not eating it. just want to know if anyone has seen something similar?

Second question: Are either of these eggs fertilized? One has a bullseye, the other (the cracked egg from above) kind of looks like a bullseye.

I think you’re just seeing fracture lines in the shell. I’ve had eggs get dropped when a little helper is collecting eggs with me and I stick them in the fridge if the crack isn’t bad enough to spill the contents. Sometimes it looks like that on the inside when I crack it open.

As to it being fertile, my first question is, do you have a rooster?

Thank you. The crack wasn’t bad at all but I tossed the egg just in case.
Yes, I have a rooster. He’s been dancing for the ladies but he has his favorites. One of these eggs is from a non-favorite.
I thought I read an article on how to idea blastoderm but can’t seem to locate it now.
