What are these people thinking?

Yes, some of us are red state yuppies! And there are probably some blue state hillbillies and some purple state hamdingers and some yuppabillies and some Canadians and Australians and English and Welsh and Irish somethings-or-others ...

You know, those people who make designer homes for their chickens probably have the influence to legalize chickens in cities where they are contraband chickens. Yes, lets make having chickens trendy. Those of you who are talented builders can cash in on these trends.

Instead of a chicken in every pot, a chicken or two or three in every yard.

And little do they realize that chickens are addicting. I started with 5. And now I have 12, plus guineas, turkeys, pheasants, quail. And I want ducks and geese.

I wish I knew someone near me who could make me cool houses for my chickens and other birds out of recycled stuff.

Hillbilly here, love to build cheapo coops out of leftover supplies... But I do know that ready-made sheds are expensive. Also expensive to have them moved to your site. You can't just throw a 10X12 shed on the bed of the old pickup truck and haul it home. it won't quite fit.

I don't find it a bad price especially if one does not have the skills to build one. Which not everyne does. I can build a coop but have no shot at making the curtains. I may know someone now.

As far as "yuppies", this is BackYARD chickens. Kinda implies suburban don't it? I live right in the middle of a town of 16,000 so dose that make me a yuppie too? Funny this kinda sounds discriminating to me and the mods should be stepping in to curb this eh?

So that;s what a yuppie is, someone who lives in a suburban area? whats wrong with that? I could HATE to live in a big city.

yup·pie
Pronunciation:
\\ˈyə-pē\\
Function:
noun
Usage:
often capitalized
Etymology:
probably from young urban professional + -ie
Date:
1981
: a young college-educated adult who is employed in a well-paying profession and who lives and works in or near a large city.

Except for the "young" part, that's me. I guess I'm an Ouppie.

If you've been to a lumberyard lately, you know that $1,000 doesn't go far. I doubt that you could build a comparable shed for less.

I call our chickens the "mobile lawn ornaments". My retired horse, too. I like looking out the windows and seeing them. So get in line and sue me.

Because thy look tacky, don't entertainingly gather around the compost pile for snacks, don't turn bugs into fertilizer and fresh warm eggs, don't add life and motion to the landscape.

These statments are made in ignorance. So no one gets their undies in an uproar:

Main Entry: ig·no·rance
Pronunciation: \\ˈig-n(ə-)rən(t)s\\
Function: noun
Date: 13th century
: the state or fact of being ignorant : lack of knowledge, education, or awareness

Main Entry: ig·no·rant
Pronunciation: \\ˈig-n(ə-)rənt\\
Function: adjective
Date: 14th century
1 a: destitute of knowledge or education <an ignorant society> ; also : lacking knowledge or comprehension of the thing specified <parents ignorant of modern mathematics> b: resulting from or showing lack of knowledge or intelligence <ignorant errors>

If they were to be implemented then why have colorful animals? They should all be plain white or black or some neutral color. Oh but wait some may find those colors attractive. Uh oh I think there may be a problem then right?
