I haven't done it over the years,,,,yet,,,,,,but there are recipes for insecticide using naptha soap. I read years ago it works pretty darn well. Why not?

No, but the information I thought might be useful if the OP can figure out a way to identify them as soil mites. If that's what they are it doesn't sound as if they are harmful.Not very good pics there.

No, but they are all over the area.Have you discovered they are something fear and kill?
I think they may be soil mites! I had left some partially composted material in the little setup for a few months and then I added the pigeons and later noticed the bugs so I replaced the organic matter with soil.
