I bought these peafowl at th e auction 3 weeks ago any clues what kind they are or how to sex them (they are very skiddish ) aprox 14-16 in tall

Not good on determining ages, I don't usually keep track of the growth too closely on my own birds. Bird in the foreground has a lot of barring on the wings and back.

They look around 6 weeks, if they keep the barring on their feathers then they are males
Here are some young females at 2.5 months i believe, notice haw the barring is fading away as they molt.

Here a young male notice how much barring it has.

thanks for the info zaz i am very new to peafowl and have lots of ??????????????? have raised chickens/quail for yrs but have always wanted peafowl!!! Mine love CAT FOOD >>>

If they love cat food, you can try offering them a little bit from your hand, or offer them some other treats (mine love blueberries!!!).
They will get used to you that way, and get less skittish...
