The reason we ask is because if you hatched them yourself or got them from someone who mixes breeds, they could be mixed - and it would be all up in the air.. However, since you got them from Ideal, very unlikely that they are mutts.They came from Ideal
anyone have any thoughts on the others? I'm worried about the littlest one. He is so small compared to the others. should I move him to another brooder?
I'm in complete agreement. I have barred rocks raised with silkies no problems - so a bantam who is smaller than another bantam should be fine.No, as long as they're the same age (they are) they do just fine! I always mix large fowl and banties and they do great together. The tiny one could just be a runt. It helps to wait until they're feathered out to identify breeds. Though you seem to know more about bantams than me already![]()
