What are we?

I've been leaning toward the silver laced having a beard but one of the golden laced has a TINY beard and the other doesn't seem to have a beard at all. This is really interesting and tons of fun! : )

It has been about 2 weeks since I started the thread. I'm so excited by how beautiful these chicks' feathers are! They each have such different personalities, too! Mereda and Snow are constantly fighting, it seems. Both of which, I suspect might be roos. :( Snow follows me, is always interested in what I'm doing; my baby. Mereda is not trusting but is brave. If he/she thinks it is going to be fun or tasty, he/she will do it but always keeps an eye on me. Rue is the quietest. She doesn't want to be held or played with. No interest in fun or tasty treats until the others have shown her (usually for an astonishing amount of time) that it isn't going to hurt her. I have very little doubt she is a hen. Both Rue and Snow have tiny little mohawks coming up! So, what say you? Am I working with pullets, cockerels, Polish, sebrights, what? :D (This game is FUN!)

Rue

Snow (Found a name!)

Rue and snow look like polish crosses, they do not have a vaulted skull (like Mereda).

Usually the friendly (and often the favorite) chicks end up roos, the pullets are usually skiddish at first.
The play fighting isnt a sign of them being roosters, chicks dive bomb and jump on each other, just like puppies do.
As they get older, they will start forming a pecking order, but the fighting shouldnt be serious.

My husband woke up to crowing early this AM. The last crow was before 7AM. Snow and Mereda (polish) both have signs of being a rooster. I honestly think they both are but I don't mind having a rooster as long as it is quiet and not a hateful little turd. My husband informed me that it was VERY loud and he's pretty sure the neighbors heard it. (They're still in the brooder while we finish the coop up. The brooder's inside.) I need to get more pictures just because it has been a while and they're growing so quickly but also because I want to see what others think.

Edit: The crowing was not from these chicks.

I have a cat and a chicken named rue! Yes I got it off the hunger games!

I can't imagine anyone not feeling a lot of love for that character! <3

ETA: I was leaning towards Prim until I saw her fight back. That's when Prue popped up!

Almost 3 weeks have gone by since the last picture update. Time for new pictures! Mereda is definitely a silver laced polish. : )

Mereda looking all rooster-like in her young age.

Snow is looking at the camera. Rue is checking out her tail feathers...

If I've learned nothing else (I have, don't worry!), I've learned that taking pictures of chicks is a tough thing to do. Adding children to the mix is even more difficult. LOL!

Mereda at 10 weeks. I actually spent a good amount of time taking pics of him/her this day. I'm restraining myself from posting more.

This is exactly what I bought these 3 chicks for, except that I have a feeling she is a he. I can't have roosters in my neighborhood. The final deciding factor was that he/she was being picked on by a hen and (long story short) she/he has a wonderful new home. Working on a home for the cornish polish crosses. Can I take this time to beg people to not cross a crested with a non-crested? PLEASE? The result is not pretty. My silver laced polish, however, is gorgeous.

Snow at 10 weeks: See? The result does not make a gorgeous bird.

Rue at 10 weeks: (You'll notice that she's always with one of the boys.)
