What are you adding to your flock this year?

I am adding 15 surprise chicks (It will be like Christmas!!), 6 Embden geese, and 4 Ancona ducks. And who knows what I may accidentally bring home from TSC….😇😏
Surprise chicks, exciting. I know I'm going to be tempted to peek at TSC and Blaine's, but I don't think they'll have what I want this year.

I’m adding 2 more Ameraucanas in lavender and either blue or black (I have a splash), 2 Russian Orloffs (a breed I’ve been wanting for so long), 2 olive eggers, another Salmon Faverolles, and a mottled Java! I only have hens and plan to keep it that way, I love collecting different breeds/color variations of my favorites. These gals will bring my count up to 20!

Let's see, frome Cackle I'm getting a few that are new.

5 Chamois Spangled Apenzeller Spitzhaubens

5 Gold Spangled Apenzeller Spitzhaubens

5 English Orpingtons Silver Laced

5 Black Ameraucanas

5 Lavender Ameraucanas

If I have room from TSC 4 - 6 bantams, maybe if the have them 3 blue breasted brown leghorns and maybe 3 buff brahmas. If they dont have them at th he same time at TSC when I'm ready I'll go with Seabreez hens. Two blue breasted brown leghorns, two silver spangled Apenzeller Spitzhaubens, two blue laced barnfielder(sp) and two blue partridge brahmas.

I just hatched out 11. I guess I'm about to reload the incubator because my mom wants a few from my Marans. I have a feeling I'm going to have more chicks than I intended this spring. Do you use a small incubator for those amounts?
Nice! Marans are actually one of the breeds I'm hoping to get next year. TBH I didn't intend to hatch any chickens this year but when the incubator arrived I got so excited I decided to do two rounds haha. I only have a medium sized incubator that fits 24 chicken/40 quail eggs, I like having the larger amount of space for the early ones to run around and dry off while everyone else finishes so I don't think I'll get a smaller one unless I need to hatch two species at the same time.

Whether it's new breeds or hatching your own chicks from the current flock. What will be your chicken math additions?
Australorps, black. Probably incubated. I am suffering through sticker shock for the incubator that I want. Went up $30 in twinkling of an eye. I did not have the funds for it a couple of weeks ago though.

Oh I’ve already looked. They have/had some Cayuga ducklings I was so tempted to bring home. I think those ducks are SO pretty!! But, knowing I have some ducklings coming soon I decided not to…unless they have more when mine come in, then I may grab some. 😉
