Not at all! I am watching the calories, too!
I don't deprive myself of good home cooking,. I just limit my portions.
I just took half the banana bread and one loaf of Gump bread over to my neighbor's where my husband's band is playing.
Leaving a couple slices for each of us here.
I did a basic rundown of fat and calories per slice of Gump bread..
Me too! I'm on weight watchers. I've lost 15 lbs in the Fall and took the holidays off...now back with 12 lbs yet to go. I too go with smaller portions of real homecooked food, and I haven't baked any desserts in awhile. DH decided to count ww points to after New Years. He's lost 11 lbs in 3 weeks!
Doesn't it just kill ya that men can lose weight so fast!! and it takes real effort on our part - what gives
Well, I'm on my old smaller portions diet too. Seven years ago I lost 60 pounds and 15 have creep-ed their way back so need to get it off. The smaller portion thing is about the only thing that really works for me since I LOVE food! If I say in my mind that I can't have something then I want all the more - so I have it but just a bit and then my craving goes away. My only saving grace is I'm not a sweet eater. Although I must admit reading about all the goodies here is tempting.

Holy Weight Loss, Batman! 60 lbs?!
You're my hero!
Fortunately I don't crave sweets much either...usually just a piece or two of sugar free candy, or even a yogurt w/fruit and I'm OK. However, I DO require a bite or two of chocolate every 2-3 weeks.
And yep, when I want it, I have to have that little bit...otherwise it's a FAST decline to indulgence-land...LOL. I crave salty things more than sweets.
My candied orange peel turned out fabulous. My grandmother would be proud.
I bagged it and set in the refrig...no time to bake the Orange Bread until tomorrow. I have sourdough that needs baked today.
OK...off to the kitchen.
ETA: Well, that 11 lbs was alot, but was about 5% of DH's original weight. For comparision, my 5% weight was only 7 lbs and I'm more than twice that loss now...so, I'm OK with it. He feels so good about it...really makes my day to see him happy and continuing to try so hard. He's determined to lose another 25 lbs. Where IS that little love smiley when you need it???
I baked some hm biscuits this morning (mixed up enough dough for 24 biscuits, patted them out, put them on a wax paper covered baking pan and stuck it in the freezer to freeze, then put in bags for later use) Gettin ready to make enough pizza dough for 4 large pizzas and a pan of bread sticks... Friday Night Pizza at our house
This doesn't really count as baking. However the past two days I've made classic Rice Crispy treats and last night I made a variation. I put about 1/3 cup of peanut butter in the marshmallows as they melted, because this made more marshmallow stuff than the recipe usualy calls for I added another cup and half of ceral to it. Turned out perfect with a nice peanut butter flavor and just the right amount of sweetness.
