What are you baking now?

I would like this gumpsbread recipe if any one has it handy. I have went back several pages and I see comments about it but not the actual recipe.

Thank you!

Heres the recipe for Gump Bread

2 cups warm (almost hot) water
4 tsp. yeast
1 Tbsp. sugar
-Combine together and let rise for 5 minutes

1/4 cup oil
5 cups bread flour
2 tsp. salt
-Add to yeast mixture and knead until smooth and elastic. (I use my KitchenAid mixer w/ the dough hook to do this. If you have a mixer with a dough hook, it makes this process MUCH easier!)

Cover and let rise for 20-25 minutes. Beat dough down and make into loaves (this recipe makes 2 loaves). Here's the trick to get your bread to come out right. You need to roll out the bread into a rectangle, then roll up into a loaf, like you would when making cinnamon rolls. Lightly slice top of bread to get diagonal cut look when baked. (refer to pic) Let loaves rise (I put my loaves on separate cookie sheets) for 20-25 minutes. Bake on 350* for 20-25 minutes, until top of loaves are golden brown. Let bread cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing.

Thank you I did find the thread with the recipe right after posting this.

I will try it soon....my hubby has been wanting calzones so I will try it with this bread.

Reno sounds good too....how was the weather there this winter?

I lived there the summer of 2004 to the summer of 2005 and OMG was it a nightmare.

I lived in Lemon Valley and we had 5-7ft of snow it started right around new years we thought we left the cold and winter weather. I guess people from there were saying Reno had not had weather like that in a very very long time....good thing we had 4 wheel drive

This winter has been horrible! We didn't quite break the overall records for that winter you mentioned (the winter of the big blow, they call it here now) but we broke all records for the most snow in 24 hours ever! It is still freezing at night. We got snow night before last (not much but still). I am so tired of being cold I can't take much more. 'K rant over. I'm ready for some 80 degree weather now!

You all have had quite cold temps for a lot of this winter too haven't you?

I am in Eastern Washington so yeah does get pretty cold but snow has been so much better less of it. I live in a canyon so it gets pretty windy here which makes it feel colder when it would be really nice without the wind.

BRRRRRRR. I'm getting colder just thinking about it. Today is a little nicer. Tonight may not even get below freezing for a change.
