What are you baking now?

I would think you could use finely chopped canned pears too. The grated pear pulp was a soft, wet mush and the canned pears would be about the same, wouldn't they? I had bruised pears from where I work (we put out fresh fruit for the employees twice a week) so that is what I was using. I don't let much of the free fruit go to waste - even the bruised pieces that everyone leaves behind!

Taking a little break here at work and decide to take a look at BYC while I eat some Cottage Cheese to tide me over until dinner - AND what do I see but this beautiful pie staring me in the face

It tastes so good!! We had it warm with ice cream - vanilla. I put just a little almond extract in the filling - cherries and almond - incredible!!!
