Plans just about done for the new garden shed/coop/run. And the rain is supposed to stop today, so we may actually be able to start building the thing finally!

Here's some of our expansion and modifications on one coop, and completely transforming the old portable duck house into a permanent coop for some bantams! Almost done!

We're building screen doors for the coop (with hardware cloth) so that we can have the doors open during nice weather for ventilation! The first one is done and I'll post pictures after the other side is done - hopefully within the next couple of days. We're also considering building a pergula over part of the ranging area - it would look nicer than the deer fencing we have hanging over the top of the girls open area!

A hoop chicken tractor, for the new chickies when they're ready for a yard field trip. And for all the birds this summer when they need to be on fresh ground, away from the sewer construction that's going to happen next to the coop.

Other: I'm on spring break beginning this Friday. My goal is to build a goose shed, paint Coop 2, build some raised beds and build a gate between the back yard and the gaden. I have some other things to do as well (mulch beds, plant garden, etc) but thats all the construction I have planned. (For the next couple of weeks at least).

Me, too! But, we do have our eye on a not-too-great strawberry patch on one of the only level pieces of ground on my property for a storage barn (no chickens allowed in there, DH says, LOL).

WHAT! No chickens allowed??? Hmmm....for how long?

Dh is finishing up the new back deck today and tomorrow. This Friday we will both be busting our butts to get our combo coop started on. The combo coop will measure 8'X 16'. 8' X 4' of that will be the coop end. The rest of it will be a separate garden storage area. We're pretty excited about this particular project. Excuse the pun... it will kill two birds with one stone.

We'll get the much needed storage area for the riding mower and misc. gardening items and a nice large coop. It will look sort of like a mini country house with a shuttered window on each side of the double doors. The coop window will be a fake so instead of opening a window, it will open up on the nesting boxes.

Okay, you guys are wearing me out just reading what all you've been working on! I guess I need to find another project to keep up!
