What are you canning now?

I am on a mission for a jelly bag, any good suggestions besides the one that comes up on Amazon? It gets mixed reviews and seems flimsy? What are you all using besides cheese cloth. Been there done the cheese cloth thing, I want to be able to reuse the sucker. Thanks!

I buy unbleached muslin at a fabric store, wash it and sew my own bags. I use a large colander and the bag fits over the edges so it doesn't slip when you are pouring stuff in. I have a small bag as well. You can get fancy and sew cone shaped bags if needed or just sew the edges on a square of material.

I wish you guys were closer by... I was dropped a couple of buckets of muscadine grapes on my lap (not literally) and I am just so worn out I don't even feel like juicing them right now. I so could use an extra few hands... and an extra few pots!!!

for wine I use an unbleached pillow case and a 5 gal. bucket. You get a whole lot of juice that way.

Of all the berries/fruits I've made jellies from, grapes are my least favorite. I tried the muscadine last year for jelly and it was not was I was used to. Everybody else likes it. I went and bought smuckers concord

This year I got some concords and got the juice ready and frozen but haven't had time to actually make any jelly. I hope I like it better than the muscadines. It stinks to make all these fun foods and still go buy jelly!

But I'd still come to help if we were closer

I go and buy the muslin from the fabric store to sew my own juice bags as well. Good stuff and WAY cheaper then all you waste on cheese cloth.
