Does anyone have a recipe for pear pie filling? I see lots of posts but can't find a recipe even googling it.

I would try that too. My mother canned pears, and it was just like using apples.
cool I wish I know how to can stuff. Our neighbor let us raid his garden before things went bad so here is the bounty we got. Only thing is I had just used the last of my jars and needed more. mom brought me two dozen bottles but that was all she could find at the store. I posted an add on a local facebook group and a woman offered to give me her jars for free.Think I have enough Jars? Nah never enough jars XD
Total count for jars that I have on the table Newjars: 2 dozen half pints 2 dozen wide mouth pints Used: 37 pints 9 wide mouth pints 15 half pints 5 quarter pints That green jar is a jar of pepper jelly that my mom brought over for us to try from the pepper plants I gave her

ok thank you. can I get the book at TSC?![]()
Get this book. Canning is soooo easy. And I am a novice. Just started this year. Just don't be afraid of it. Follow the basics and sterilization and you'll be fine. There is some stuff you'll tweak and make your own and it is so much fun and the results are delicious and you are the envy of all your friends and family![]()
ok thank youThe best canning book I've found is "So Easy to Preserve". The Georgia Agricultural extension puts it out, and it has tons of tables and graphs explaining the science behind canning. It gives you some independence, to safely make your own recipes.
You can only get it online through the ag extension, but it's easy to find if you google it.
I will have my hubby look for it for me lol
