What is cowboy candy?I think I've just lost my newbie canner status.
Today I canned Cowboy Candy, Tomato Basil Jam, Salsa, Kosher Dill Pickles, and Green Tomato Salsa Verde.

I'm exhausted, but at the same time I feel so empowered!
Last night I boiled and shredded a chicken, froze the meat used the broth for a couple of soups. Corn chowder in one crockpot and hibachi onion soup in the other. Those are frozen now too.
Would like to make some egg free own ton wrappers to freeze as well, but that's gonna have to be another day!

What is cowboy candy?
I used to make Cowboy Caviar sometimes from Betty Crocker. It's chickpeas, a sweet red pepper, a jalepeño, oil and vinegar and salt and pepper. You allow it to sit overnight before serving. I wonder if that could be canned.
Today's canner load:
5 12 oz Sweet Michigan Cerries & Almond Jam
2 12oz + 6oz Tart Blueberry Lime jam
2 pts pickled beets & onion
3 12oz + 60z Apricot Peach Orange Conserve
Rancher, I only had 2 peaches in that conserve, but I had everything boiling in my stockpot, and I let it cool a little before I put it into the jars. Then I let it cool a little more, then used my poker tool to push everything down, it was all down ... 2 hrs later the whole fruit had floated to the top. Phew.
Like the pineapple and jalapeno salsa you can get from Costco? We ate a whole container of it in less than 2 days, the gal who introduced me to it goes through a jar a day!Cowboy candy is a sweet and spicy and jalepeno.
Like this?Cowboy candy is a sweet and spicy and jalepeno.
Awesome, that recipe looks right about the same as the one I found yesterday. Time to fertilize my jalepeño plants!! TYFor some reason I cannot open links on the mobile app. Here is the recipe I used:
