What are you canning now?

Health Corp is out of business. There is no one who makes replacement parts.

You have a useless item on your hands as far as a pressure canner goes. They are far too dangerous to use without first being checked out when they are that old (made 1930's - 1940's).

It is best to just simply use it as an open kettle cooking pot than risking the damage those old pots can cause.

Invest in a new one. They really are more affordable these days than ever before.

I'm honored!! One of my pickle lovers (county cop/neighbor) is wanting me to teach their 7 and 11 year old daughters to can pickles. Since I cannot supply them with enough pickles throughout the year, they want to do it themselves. I've given them the seeds and other information on ingredients/supplies for canning pickles. I've taught their Mother two years ago but it never took off for her because of school. She just needs a refresher course and the girls there this time. Any suggestions? My kids help all the time and I really don't have any concerns except the boiling water and canner.

Sounds really good....I love rootbeer and the things I drink soda wise are caffeine free.
