The book I finished most recently was The Van by Roddy Doyle. Very funny, sweet story set in Ireland about 2 close friends going through some troubles together.

It has to go down as one of my favourite books, and one that I have read many times. There's another couple of related books, making up the Barrytown Trilogy (the commitments and the snapper) which are also excellent.

If you enjoy animal based worlds (such as Redwall) a newer series called the green ember series are pretty good. They are actually coming out with a new one in March and you can get special deals on it here https://www.kickstarter.com/project...ber-series-forges?ref=home_new_and_noteworthy. They are simple clean books if you just want something to read that isn't to intense and it is good for the whole family.
