WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? WHAT DID YOU JUST RECEIVE?

Oh come on!!  I have no kids thank-fully but I am 60 +.  I have 25 chickens, 3 quail, 17 pheasant, 10 goats - one of which is in my bedroom, 3 cows, a donkey, 2 dogs, a duck, 104 quail eggs in the incubator and 15 turkey being shipped in June, 10 Lavender Orrpingtons coming in late April.  Plus we will be going to the exotic livestock auction next month.
Holy Cow!

I picked up my two 3 day old Cuckoo Marans and one 3 day old Buff Brahma today (and am chick-sitting my friends four Cuckoo Marans until tomorrow). I was supposed to be getting two Ameraucanas as well, but I'll have to get them from a hatch in two weeks instead. One of my Marans is very tiny and runty looking, though. She seems to be eating, drinking and pooping but she is just... little and slow. One of the other Marans acts like she is constipated, but no signs of pasty butt.

I am hoping for the best, as these guys are my first foray into chickens. :)

Ok we made the mistake of going to TSC today. I now have another Khaki Campbell duckling - to replace the one who got eaten, 3 happy healthy Pekings and our bonus duckling - a blind baby who may or may not make it. I think as long as it has others to rely on it will be ok.

Got chick fever as I stopped by TSC to pick up some supplies. I had a peak at the Assorted Bantam bin and saw from what I could tell were two Mille Fleur Belgian Bearded d'Uccle, three Silver Seabrights. I just went home and just had to bring the kids back with me. We went back and picked two D'Uccles and three Seasbrights and even added one Barred Rock. I'll post later for positive identification but I am pretty sure on what I picked out. So excited! These are our first ever Bantams and we did'nt get stuck with OEGBs!

My chicks from Welp (Privett) arrived this morning! Had to go to the next town over as our mail is sorted there before coming to this post office. The driver from the Sort Facility put them in the cab of the truck with him to keep them warm. The lady at the post office does not like cold chicks coming into her post office. Was a funny early morning conversation.
Anyway out of 44 birds it looks like I have one or two weak ones. Not to bad. Didn't see any extras which is a bummer but fine.I'd order through Welp again in a heart beat. Very pleased so far. There are partridge rocks, gold laced, silver laced and blue wyandottes and some barred cochins in there. Any help telling the blue females from the males would be greatly appreciated. I forgot to have some of the pullets marked and owe a friend 5 girls :D

Congrats!

Your post made me laugh because my order from Welp arrived this morning a little bit before 11am.
Two of mine look iffy (both Silver Leghorns), but they are also the smallest two of the bunch. I hope that your weak ones make it!

I figured someone else had to have had an order coming from the same place for these hatch dates. I made the mail ladies day by letting her hold a chick lol
We ended up taking pictures to try and get a head count. Might have a couple extras of something. Not sure what yet. Little buggers ate drank and got active really fast.
I hated to go back to work tonight as I was having a great time watching them

at two to three weeks the hens will have longer tail and wing feathers than the roos...
